After several years of teaching and trying many different methods, I have finally settled on one that works for both the kids and me! So I thought today I would share my method of classroom management with you.
To the left of the reward chart, I have hung classroom rules. I read the book Whole Brain Teaching this summer, and these rules are from that book. (I especially love rule 5. It covers everything.)
You can get a copy of the rules from The Neat and Tidy Classroom on TpT.

So you may be wondering at this point, how do students earn rewards? Students can earn tickets for good behavior throughout the day. I mainly give tickets based on another whole brain teaching idea - the smile/frown chart.
So then, what are the tickets used for you might ask?
Students can turn in 10 tickets for a reward coupon. I was tired of buying unhealthy candy and cheap toys that broke immediately. So I switched to using reward coupons instead. And let me tell you, my students love them. (I haven't even heard any complaints about not getting candy!)
You can get the reward coupons from my TpT store in either bright chevron or bright polka-dots.

How do you handle rewards and punishment in your classroom?
What system do you have in place in the event that students cheat and switch tickets by their names to quickly get 10 tickets for a reward?
