Sunday Scoop: May 3rd

Wow! This week has been busy!  Of course that means that I had tons of things to do this weekend.  Of course I love linking up with the Teaching Trio to share my Sunday Scoop!

http://teachingtrio.blogspot.com/2015/05/sunday-scoop-5-2-14.html

Have to Do...
1. I am a procrastinator. So yes, I still have to type up a week's worth of spelling worksheet pages for this week.
2. We are going on a field trip to a park tomorrow.  I'm pretty sure we are all ready, but I always feel like I should double check on things like rides and permission slips.
3. And as always on the weekends, I washed several loads of laundry.  However, I have not managed to put it away yet.

Hope to Do...
1. School and life has been so busy that I have been severely neglecting my blog and TpT store.  I did manage to get my store ready for the big sale and add some new banners.  I am hoping to have time tonight to write a few blogs for the week.  This week is going to be just as busy as last week so maybe if I have them all written, it will be easy to just add pictures and post them.
2. I am so excited about the big sale on Tuesday and Wednesday.  What an awesome way for TpT to make us as teachers feel appreciated!  I am sure by the time Tuesday rolls around I will have a huge wish list to shop from!

Happy to Do...
1. I started getting a sore throat Friday night, and it has gotten worse over the weekend.  I was afraid it was going to turn into a full cold, but it feels like it might be getting better today.  Hopefully if I drink some tea and get to bed early, I will be completely better tomorrow.  Hopefully!!

What do you have planned for today?

Sunday Scoop: March 29

Another week has passed which means it is time for another edition of the Sunday Scoop with the Teaching Trio.

Have to Do...

Most of my have to do items are the same things that every teacher spends their weekend doing.  I did several loads of laundry yesterday which means I get to put them away today.  Of course, I also have to pack lunches and iron clothes for school tomorrow.  We have our standardized testing this week so I have a little bit of planning left to do for those days.

Hope to Do...

The parents of one of my students who has dyslexia gave me a book the other day called The Gift of Dyslexia.  I can't wait to start reading it!  I think it will give me some good ideas of how I can better help him. {If anyone else has any good recommendations on books about dyslexia, I would love to hear them.}
I also have something exciting in the works for this week.  I can't tell you about it yet, but I wish I could!!

Happy to Do...

I am so excited to be part of the Spring in our Step linky.  Some amazing teacher bloggers and I have teamed up to share some of what we love about Spring with you.  In the process we are sharing some Spring freebies and holding an unbelievable giveaway.  My post with the freebie and giveaway link goes live today at 9:00 a.m.  Be sure to stop back and grab my freebie and enter the giveaway.  You won't be disappointed!

Sunday Scoop: March 22

Happy Sunday!  I hope you have all enjoyed your first official weekend of Spring so far.  Despite our spring snowstorm, I had a productive day yesterday, but I still have plenty to do today.
I am linking up with the Teaching Trio to share my Sunday Scoop with you.

Have to Do...
*We decided this week that one of my students needs an individualized spelling word list.  Which means that I will be typing up a word list and daily exercises every weekend.  It will be extra work, but it will be worth it to see him have more success in this area.
*Now that I have a computer with internet access, I want to plan out some blog posts for the week.
*I really need to start going to bed earlier on school nights.  Hopefully I won't be quite so tired in the afternoon that way.

Hope to Do...
*I have been working hard to prep my store for the new Educents storefront openings on April 2.  It just takes quite a bit of time to upload all my products from TPT onto a new site.  I am getting it done though.
*I've also been working on a customary measurement product.  One of my students really needs more practice with it.  I am hoping to have it done soon so that I can use it with him.

Happy to Do...
*I am looking forward to my trip to North Carolina this summer.  My in-laws are taking us to the beach.  Plus it's always nice to dream about warm weather when we still have snow on the ground!

I hope you have a great Sunday!  Make sure you stop by the Teaching Trio and see what other teachers are doing this week.

Sunday Scoop: 2/15/15

Here's my Sunday Scoop for this stormy winter day...

Have To Do...

1. We are planning on having church tonight which means the driveway will need to be shoveled before then.  And as much as I hate shoveling, I guess I probably should help out some.
2. I washed sheets and towels yesterday so today is the day to do the rest of our laundry.  At least, I don't have to worry about getting it all done.  Since we have two days off this week, I can finish it tomorrow if necessary.
3. My house is currently full of all the delicious chocolates I received from students and family.  I consider it my duty today to eat large amounts of it!

Hope To Do...

1. I am really hoping that we are able to have church tonight.  I miss seeing my church family and hearing from God's Word when we can't be there.  I guess it will all depend on when it stops snowing and if the church parking lot gets cleared out.
2. I started reading blogs this morning on my phone, but it seemed like every blog had something I wanted to pin or download or add to my TPT wishlist.  It's harder to do those things on my phone so I am hoping to get a chance to read the blogs on my computer.  That way I can have access to all the amazing things that my teacher friends are sharing with me!

 Happy To Do...

We have a short break this week - Monday and Tuesday off.  Part of me thinks that we don't need a break because of all the snow days we have had recently, but I am certainly not going to complain.  I plan on spending the days working on new TPT products.  I like to do either a flash freebie or a giveaway for every new product so follow my Facebook page to make sure you don't miss those deals!

Sunday Scoop is a link up hosted by The Teaching Trio so make sure you stop by their blog to find out what some other hard-working teachers are up to today.

Sunday Scoop: February 8

I'm back with another edition of the Sunday Scoop with the Teaching Trio.  Be sure to head over to their blog after this and read about what some other amazing teachers have planned for today!

http://teachingtrio.blogspot.com/2015/02/sunday-scoop-2815.html

Our school had two snow days this week, and there is a good possibility of another one tomorrow.  Of course that doesn't mean that I am all caught up on my work.  I still have plenty on my to-do list to keep me busy!

HAVE TO DO...
I am such a procrastinator so I obviously still have papers to grade from last week.  Which means I have to do them today.
My first grade class is starting a unit on seasons tomorrow so I need to finish up the posters I am making to hang up.  I have been coloring them, and so far they are turning out pretty cute!
I have been swamped the past few weeks with school related tasks, and as a result my blog has taken a back seat.  I need to prep some blogs for this week today so that I can just add pictures as events happen.  Hopefully doing some prep work will make blogging during the week easier for me.

HOPE TO DO...
I am trying to finish up a couple sets of Valentine's Day themed subtraction task cards to use this week.  Of course, if I want to use them, I have to finish them!
I love to have my nails repainted, but I don't like to take the time to paint them and let them dry.  I am hoping to take some time to do that tonight though.

 HAPPY TO DO...
My son brings home a folder every Friday with all his work from the week in it.  I love sitting down with him and looking over every thing he did.  It's a great time to go over things he struggled with and praise him for the good papers!

Sunday Scoop - 1/17/15

Well, another week has flown by which means that it is time to link up with the Teaching Trio for their Sunday Scoop.

http://teachingtrio.blogspot.com/

Thankfully, I managed to get a lot of work done yesterday so there isn't too much on my to do list for today!

Have to...
I am the supervisor for our school's yearbook club.  Which means I get the fun chores like going through the superlative suggestions and picking which we should use.  Then I type them up, hand them out, and count the answers to find the winners.  It's fun, but time consuming!

I hate vacuuming so it's the chore that I tend to put off.  Since I put it off yesterday, I really need to do it today.

My 3rd grade reading is working on an author study of Roald Dahl.  We are currently reading James and the Giant Peach so I have activities ready for that.  It's the rest of the books we are planning to read that I need to prep for!

Hope to...
I am hoping to get a chance to work on some cowboy themed products to use with my 1st graders this week.  I'm planning to make a synonym matching game and a contraction center.

I have a hard time planning ahead with my blogging so I am going to try to get some blogs planned and typed out.  I would like to be ahead of the game this week if possible!

Happy to...
Hopefully I will get a chance to catch up on some reading this week.  In the spirit of our Dahl author study, I have been reading The Irregulars by Jennet Conant.  The book details Dahl's life as a British spy in the United States during World War II.  It's an extremely interesting true story!

First Sunday Scoop of a New Year!

I have one more day of Christmas break
- and I am going to enjoy it!

Well, school starts again tomorrow, and I am almost ready.  Not quite, but almost.  I did spend some time in my classroom on Friday, but I need at least another hour in there today to be fully prepared.  {My bulletin boards are empty!}

I started reading The Giver and the three following books yesterday.  I have read The Giver before, but I wanted to reread it before I read the next three.  I forgot what a great book it is.  They are short books though so I am hoping to finish all of them today.

Also, my sister and her family have been here for all of Christmas break.  I am loving playing with my nieces and nephews!

Feel free to link up your plans for today with The Teaching Trio!
